The NWSO Spring Concert
The NWSO spring concert offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the few existing vibraphone concertos, performed by renowned percussionist Sacha Johnson. Written by Brazilian composer Ney Rosauro and inspired by the people and scenery of Brazil, this piece is sure to delight and entertain. This is contrasted with Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2, with its wealth of splendid tunes, rich late-Romantic harmony, full-blooded scoring for a big orchestra and a vein of melancholy lyricism.
Festive Overture, Op. 96 by Dmitri Shostakovich

Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27 by Sergei Rachmaninov
