On Monday, March 12th, we are delighted to host a pre-Cheltenham racing evening with Anne Holland to promote her latest book “Festival Fever, the Irish at Cheltenham”, in the Gallery at 7pm for 7.30 refreshments – Tickets from Devizes Books £6, however, we will give £5 off purchase of the book on the night, which Anne will sign after the talk.

With the Cheltenham Festival just around the corner acclaimed local author Anne Holland’s latest book Festival Fever, The Irish at Cheltenham, is a timely reminder of the great English/Irish sporting rivalry each March in the Cotswolds.
Anne Holland moved from Wiltshire to Ireland in 2002 where she lived in and around racing luminaries for thirteen years; this is her sixth book for the O’Brien Press, from a total of 24. She returned to Wiltshire in 2015 to be nearer to her two grandchildren.
Born and raised on the Kent and Sussex borders, Anne was South East Area Point-to-Point champion three times, and she trained many point-to-point winners. She also rode in several National Hunt races after the law changed allowing women to do so, always as an amateur. She won a hurdle race against professionals at Stratford on Avon, and was placed in a number of steeplechases.
Anne trained as a journalist on the Kent and Sussex Courier, Tunbridge Wells, and subsequently built up her freelance career. She is currently working on mainly historical writing and a film.

Anne Holland was a leading point-to-point rider and amateur under National Hunt Rules in the UK.
She is also available for research and editing, mentoring and public speaking. To book her for talks please email as above.
